Level 2 NCEA Physical Education

Year 12 NCEA Physcial Education is a full 21 credit NCEA course.  The course consists of 8 Level 2 Achievement Standards ranging from the study of the body, improving skill performance, maintaining an exercise programme to a study of the Super 14 Tournament. The course consists of a compulsory outdoor education camp which assesses two Achievement Standards. Students need to be aware that this course is a predominantly theory based course supported occasionally by practical lessons.

 

Achievement Standards:

2.1 Examine the relationship between physical activity and health, and implications for self and society-Interal - 3 Credits,T3
2.2 Describe how functional anatomy and biomechanical principles relate to performing physical activity- Internal - 4 credits,T2
2.4 Examine skill-learning principles and psychological skills in relation to physical activity.  -Internal  - 2 Credits,T3
